Congratulations to the PSi Graduates of 2017-2018!
Last week, the cohort of 2017-2018 presented their final Capstone Leadership Projects and Stories of Self, Us & Now, and completed all the requirements of the Perrone-Sizer Institute for Creative Leadership.
They shared their Capstone projects, which included supporting parents as first teachers, developing a gap year program, and sustaining connections with high school grads to promote college and career success.
We heard about efforts focused on students' physical wellbeing through nutrition, exercise, and connection to the natural world; on recognizing and expanding students' roles as contributing members of their communities; on connecting them to the power and purpose of writing; on building social and emotional skills, raising up student leadership, and encouraging family engagement; and on designing a new school where young people work on immersive projects they care deeply about.
Other projects focused on educators' engagement and professional development, strengthening cultural competency, and developing an anti-racist lens in all that they do.
The thread that connected every story of roadblocks and revolution, of frustration and success, was the idea of the leadership journey, which will continue for each of these leaders. We are grateful to have been fellow travelers with them, and we look forward to the road ahead. We believe they will change the world.
Here are a few more images from our intense, revelatory final class days together.
